The Canadian Association of Food Studies (CAFS) meets annually as a part of Congress to share emerging research, connect and build a dialogue between academics and community members who represent the amazing diversity of food researchers and activists from across the country.

The 2015 CAFS Conference will be held May 30th to June 2nd 2015, at the University of Ottawa in association with the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences. Students, independent researchers and knowledge users who are members of CAFS with an interest in health research, and are thinking of presenting their work at the next CAFS conference are eligible for a funding opportunity.

CIHR has a call for applications for travel funds with a tight deadline: Monday September 22, 2014, suited especially to students and new scholars/scientists. Check the following website for your eligibility and consider applying. The ICS Travel Awards program involves almost $130,000 in total funding for grants in amounts between $500 and $2,500 (to be used in the first half of 2015).

Likewise, the CAFS Congress 2015 Program Committee would like to give everyone the advanced notice that the Request for Proposals (RFP) is expected to be available in October, with a submission deadline in early January 2015. Please begin to consider submitting a proposal alone and/or in collaboration with colleagues.

For details on the CIHR travel grant funding opportunity (deadlineMonday Sept 22, 2014), see the following URL and start your engines!
